Bhutanese-Refugees_in-the-US_2015Five thousands 7 hundreds and 75 Bhutanese resettled in the US on fiscal year 2014/15. This is the numbers of resettled from October 1, 2014 to September 30, 2015. The U.S. federal government’s fiscal year begins on 1 October of the previous calendar year and ends on 30 September of the year with which it is numbered.
According to data of U.S. Department of State, maximum 921 in August 2015 and no Bhutanese resettled in May 2015.
As of the data of 2015, monthly resettled numbers as below:
October 2014: 370
November 2014: 500
December 2014: 429
January 2015: 342
February 2015: 427
March 2015: 455
April 2015: 326
May 2015: 0
June 2015: 689
July 2015: 749
August 2015: 921
September 2015: 567
Resettlement on May 2015 was zero, just after another month Guru Dhimal made a threat call. The U.S. Department of State records the arrival of Bhutanese in the US:
– 5,320 in 2008,
– 13,452 in 2009,
– 12,363 in 2010,
– 14,999 in 2011,
– 15,070 in 2012,
– 9,134 in 2013;
– 8,434 in 2014, and
– 5,775 in 2015.
The International Organization for Migration (IOM) worked together for resettlement in United States of America, United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand, Denmark, Norway, the Netherlands, Canada, and Sweden. IOM resettlement project in Nepal began in March 2008 and is expected to continue through December 2016, with numbers declining from 2014 onward.
