PM gives away Scout Award

Prime Minister and Patron of Nepal Scout, Girija Prasad Koirala on Thursday gave away badges and prizes to scouts and personalities who contributed to the developments of scouts in Nepal.
Koirala awarded Educational Secretary Shankar Prasad Pande with the Golden Rhino award for the latter’s role in naming a mountain after Lord Baden Powell who promoted scouts in the world. The Golden Rhino is regarded as the highest scout award in Nepal.
Similarly, the Prime Minister also honored Hari Mohan Jyoti with the Golden Rhino award for his contribution to the scouts for 50 years in the country.
Likewise, the Prime Minister also gave away Nepal Scout Journalism award to Rajesh Koirala, coordinator of Kopila, a children’s weekly supplement of Kantipur Publications, and to Nepal News Weekly for the contribution to the development of scouts in the country.
On the occasion organized to mark the 56th anniversary of Nepal Scouts, Madhav Prasad Joshi, Pushpa Ramesh Kulkarni, Laxman Prasai, Birat Kumar Shrestha and Khem Gurung were felicitated for their financial support in construction of scout buildings.
