56th Scout Day

Nepal Scouts celebrated its 56th Scout Day on Jun 19 at the National Headquarters, Kathmandu. Scouts from Western Region of the Different Districts including Kapilbastu, Kaski, Gorkha, Nawalparasi, Palpa, Baglung, Lamgung, Syanja, Kathmandu, Lalitpur, Bhaktapur numbering to more than 1850Scouts, participated in different competitions like dramatization of the leprosy project, HIV/AIDS being conducted by Nepal Scouts, cultural programs, March pass, Camp craft, Camp decoration and many more. Distinguished guests from national level organizations, Diplomats, Government officials, Senior Journalists, former scout leaders, national and district scout authorities and scouts from different districts were present to celebrate Nepal Scout Day.
On this occasion the Patron of Nepal Scouts and Honorable Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala inaugurated the ceremony by flag ceremony of Nepal Scouts. On the ceremony Patron of Nepal Scouts present Golden Rihno award to Mr. Shankar Prasad Pandey and Hari Mohan “Joti”, Award for Meritorious Conduct Medal to Mr. Gautam Adhikari (Director of Nepal Scouts National Headquarters), Valor Medal to Mr. Naresh Maharjan (Summitter of Baden Powell Scout Peak), Good Service Medal to Mr. Hari Bahadur Shrestha (National Trainer) and Mr. Dipesh K.C, Appreciation Letter to Mr. Umesh Nepali, Journalism Prize to National Dairy Newspaper Nepal News and Rajesh Koirala (Coordinator of Kopila, Kantipur National Daily Newspaper).
On the pleasant ceremony Patron of Nepal Scouts Handed over the various awards to leaders and journalist for their contribution the development of scouting.
Patron distributed service awards to devote scout leaders. Winner Scouts, and Districts were awarded by prize and certificate who participated the competitions. On the ceremony Chief Scouts Mr. Pradip Koiral, Chief Commissioner Mr. Shree Ram Lamichhane, Joint Chief Commissioner Mr. C.L. Kaushik and National Secretary Ms. Chandra Kala Pant spoke about the ideals of scouting.
